The Curacao Story
Chapter 5: Keeping Green in 2013
For years, well-known West Coast retailer and credit card provider Curacao has been dedicated to helping save the environment and offering green solutions in place of utilizing the more traditional industrial resources.
Starting its green project on the storefront, Curacao offers a variety of energy saving and environmentally friendly products, allowing customers the accessibility to purchase items that can help protect the Earth from continued and extended harm. Each store's cardboard boxes are also recycled, and lights throughout their corporate headquarters, located in Downtown Los Angeles, are automatically turned off every night at midnight.
To inform the local communities about the causes and effects of saving the environment, the April issue of the company's 16-page catalog is used only to promote Earth Day. Additionally, Curacao hosts the annual Eco Festival in Southern California, held at Plaza Mexico in the city of Lynwood. Audiences present at this event are educated about how to protect the environment in the midst of celebrating the Earth.
Curacao has also sponsored internationally famed environmentalist and college professor, Henry Sanchez, who vowed to run barefoot from Argentina to Alaska, planting trees along the way to help raise awareness about saving the planet.
The department store chain will remain committed to its green movement in 2013. To learn more about Curacao and to browse through the corporation's energy efficient products, visit www.icuracao.com
