The Curacao Story
Chapter 3: Curacao's Children's Foundation
Recently celebrating its 10th anniversary, retail corporation Curacao's Children's Foundation has been continually providing assistance to children and families in need. Known to its Latino customers as Fundación La Curacao Para Los Niños, the Foundation selects its recipients through referral services provided by organizations that nominate underprivileged families to receive household products and children's toys free of charge.
Organizations qualified to make such assessments and refer families include educational institutions, religious places of worship, local government agencies, as well as other similar communities that promote the welfare of children and families. Upon submissions, which must be made online through Curacao's corporate website, applicants will be visited by a member of the Curacao team to verify that the family in question is prohibitively disadvantaged. This qualification process also includes determining which products the families will need in order to enjoy a higher quality of life and improve their daily conditions. During this process, the organizations responsible for the nomination can log back into the Curacao corporate site and check on the status of the families' applications. Once the families have been qualified and the Curacao team has determined the necessary merchandise, the items will be delivered to their homes.
Recipients must reside within 10 miles of a Curacao store, currently in select regions of California and Arizona. Each family can only be assisted once, so duplicate submissions of previous winners will not be considered for staff verification.
