Question: How Can I Make My Flowers Last Longer?

Answer: Buy your flowers when they are tight, meaning that they aren't fully open yet and are still budding. Tight flowers are in the earlier stages of their life so they will last longer.

You can also put plant food into the water to give them more nutrients. Another trick is to change the water and cut off about an inch of the stems every other day. To help extend the life of roses I would suggest cutting the stems under warm water because cold water doesn't travel as well up the stems.

Some flowers actually last longer than others, such as lilies, so perhaps you should consider purchasing them instead!
