Company History

FITera was created by the very first “online personal fitness trainer” in the world, Chad Tackett. Chad has a degree in Exercise Science from Oregon State University and is a personal trainer with a weight loss/management specialty. Back in 1996, when Chad first learned of the Internet, he began dreaming up ways of taking what he was teaching people in his personal training business to an online program that could teach, support, and motivate others all around the world. Chad spent an entire year developing the workout routines, meal plans, exercise instructions and video demonstrations, healthy recipes, online books, and a platform to offer personal one-on-one consulting via email and the website. On April 1, 1997, his first online company, Global Health & Fitness, went live. . . and he got his first online client on June 13th, 1997. Frustrated by all the terrible information, conflicting advice, and gimmicky products, Chad was on a mission to teach others his super-simple, no-nonsense approach and help the world become healthier one person at a time. Just a few years later, Chad had thousands of clients from more than 100 countries around the world and a team of almost 40 health and fitness experts offering advice.
Chad was living his dream, but his mission was not yet complete. In 2008, he teamed up with superstar celebrity trainer, Kim Lyons (trainer from the smash-hit TV show, The Biggest Loser), to create a brand-new online fitness/weight loss program - Fast Track to fat Loss - that focused still on the fastest, most effective way to lose fat and keep it off for good, but also includes a supportive community of like-minded people that are all striving for the same thing - living a healthy, active lifestyle.
